  • Use ice water to dry your nails
This method sounds a little bizarre but it does work! Dip your painted nails in ice water after a brief air-dry for a few seconds and the color automatically sets. If the air is humid, you’ll want to wait extra long to let them dry.
  • Line your nails with Vaseline pre-painting
The Vaseline creates a barrier between your nail and your skin, so you can wipe off the Vaseline and take any mistakes with it!
  • Use an angled eyebrow brush for easy clean up.
This is a neat way to clean up without messing up your nails. The bristles are tight and compact so they won’t flare out as you clean around the cuticles, giving you a nice, clean edge.
  • If you are out, use a Nail Dry spray…
No need to panic, simply spray your nails with cooking oil spray. It’ll help to set that color and prevent smudges!
  • Glitter, best way off!
Some of us love a little glitter on our nails. Let’s be honest it looks great once applied but a complete nightmare to get off! If you love the look of glitter but hate removing it, try soaking it off like you would with Shellac. Next, dip cotton in acetone, press firmly on the nail and wrap with foil. Leave to soak for 8-10 mins, unwrap foil and the rest is history!
  • Prevent chipping
Chipped nail polish isn’t cute and the best way to prevent this happening and having a long lasting manicure is simply by painting two base coats. Apply the 1st coat on the top half portion of the nail and the second coat over the whole nail. This helps protect the polish on the tip of your nail and with long lasting wear.
  • Get Whiter Nails
Years of applying nail polish could cause your nails to change color. Don’t panic because it can be prevented by scrubbing them with whitening toothpaste. Another great idea for fixing this problem is soaking them in lemon juice.
  • Bye Bye to though nail polish cap
As nail polish gets older, it gets tougher to open due to dried up polish around the cap. To avoid that from happening, put petroleum jelly around the lid every time you use it and bob’s your uncle!
  • Glitter peel off!
A great way to remove glitter nail polish is to paint PVA Glue on your nails as a basecoat. Let the glue dry completely, and then paint over it with as many coats of glitter polish as you want. Whenever you’re ready to remove your polish, peel back the glue and the glitter will easily come off with it.
  • Loosen tough lid….
It can be very annoying trying to open a very tough nail polish cap. To fix this, simply place the nail polish bottle upside down in a cup. Fill the glass with really hot water just high enough to cover the lid but not high enough to soak the bottle of paint because hot water affects the consistency. Wait a few minutes, remove the nail polish bottle from the glass, and then open the loosened lid.
