South African born fashion icon, David Tlale has done it again at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week 2014 show! His Autumn/winter collection dubbed “Elementary Metropolis,” was breathtaking with his collection ranging from ready to wear clothes to urban clothing; pieces I strongly feel women like Omotola Jalade Ekeinde or even Liya Kebede would seriously love to wear. Tlale who is 1 of Africa’s hottest international designers is well known to be bold and dramatic, defying convention and very unpredictable when it comes to color, texture, as well as the use of fabrics though the designer kept it very classy and elegant for his first official runway appearance at New York Fashion Week. With such kind of energy and creativity, I see his designs going all the way to the American stores. Check out some of the images below and let us know whether you believe in this young man’s talent!
“I feel like we have just begun. We have done the frills, the feathers and now we are focusing on the business of fashion.” David Tlale comment on his designs.
