According to the designer, Anita Horsfall, “I had so much fun creating these handmade pieces,” says Anita. “The jewelleries are all designed with the articulated armour like look in mind, harnessed with power, dominance, and with finished looks filled with elegance and grace with an illusion of ease and comfort with lavishly trimmed frills, flounces and feathers with that of intricate, decorative hand beading.” View more images after the cut

For this season, decorative textiles and pure handicraft are in abundance across the world and Anita Quansah London didn’t disappoint one bit. Her SS 14 collection features an array of gorgeous materials, and colourful beads of various sizes, all sourced from Africa and India. It also features some semi precious stones, faceted crystals, shells, reclaimed parts, chains and feathers that all go into the creation of each statement neck piece. The highlights on each piece are from the neckline to the shoulder, with shimmering metals, clashed and embedded with the explosion of mixed colours to create a riot of complexity, that results in a unique wearable artwork.

“I hope to continue to celebrate my rich African heritage,” says Anita Horsfall. “This SS 14 collection of handmade jewelleries explores the rich African artistry and craftsmanship and that of rich, powerful, aristocratic glamour and pageantry of the 17th century characterized by high ruffled collars and bejewelled fabrics worn by Queen Elizabeth I of England.” One thing is certainAnita Quansah London is seriously on a different level of creativity when it comes to jewellery making and if you love to get something uniquely gorgeous this season, get 1 or more pieces from Anita Quansah London.
